I would like to tell you about my experience with Orchard: Africa. Last year I was invited by a friend to The Orange Ball. I was so challenged by their goal of ending the cycle of extreme poverty and AIDS in Africa that I immediately signed up as a volunteer. One day, while working at their office in Tempe, I got a chance to read some posts on blog written by a team from Arizona who had gone on a short-term mission trip to serve in Africa. There seemed to be so much life change happening on that trip, both in the lives of the children in Africa and in the lives of those who were from the US. I had to go to Africa and soon…
Before I knew it I had contacted my outreach Pastor to get my churches involved. We decided that we should firstly start a campaign and give up our birthdays, have a garage sale and host a movie night to fund a village. It was amazing to see how the projects in the village made such a significant and immediate impact - especially for the children. I am flying to Johannesburg tomorrow and will write to you soon from Africa!
Sincerely,
We cannot do our work in Africa without the service, help, and
