    Field Notes: Pitsane is located 60 miles south east of the city of Gaberone, Botswana. Population of the greater district is approximately 30,000. HIV/AIDS prevalence is high. Children are orphaned and vulnerable due to HIV/AIDS and deaths of parents. Households are child headed and children face stigma and isolation associated with HIV/AIDS.

    Country Notes: Botswana is located in Southern Africa landlocked between South Africa, Namibia, Zambia & Zimbabwe. The main ethnic groups are the Batswana and BaKalanga. Over 70% of the country is desert area and the main industry is diamond mining. Botswana has the second highest HIV infection rate in the world.

    The number of children at the feeding project is increasing and we were able to do our first AIDS presentation this month.

    We are having a problem with water shortages which disturbs the feeding projects.

    We would like to build the body of Christ by working together with Orchard: Africa. We share its vision and mission of not only seeing fruit grow on individual trees but also seeing fruit grow on the entire African orchard.
