POST FROM AFRICA-MAY
Late last year, members of Fountain of Hope Church in Top Village, Mahikeng, received training through the Orchard: Africa Impact Center on how to run a small chicken farming business. For a church serving a disadvantaged community, this opportunity brought both practical skills and new hope for sustainability.
To launch the project, Orchard: Africa provided 100 newly hatched chicks, feed for the first six-week cycle, and a chicken house. The project is already helping the church generate income to support community programs such as feeding projects, preschool ministry, and agriculture initiatives.
The project has also created employment for Mr Makabolane, who had struggled to find work for many years. Through this opportunity, he is now able to support his child and assist his mother financially. Just as importantly, he has gained confidence, dignity, and valuable skills that can help him build a better future.
The church hopes to grow the project from 100 chickens to 500 chickens per cycle in the coming years. As the business expands, it will create more jobs, strengthen families, and help reduce poverty in the community.
Thank you for partnering with us to bring sustainable hope and opportunity to communities like Top Village.
