POSTCARD FROM AFRICA—SEPTEMBER 2025

Mr. Ngaka Mosweu has lived his entire life in the small rural village of Madutle. As both a father and grandfather, he has invested deeply in the lives of his children and grandchildren. In his younger years, Mr. Mosweu dreamed of making a difference in his community. However, because he never had the opportunity to attend school, he feared his dream would never be realized.

When Fountain of Hope Church gave him the opportunity to serve as an agriculture champion, he embraced it wholeheartedly. Little did he know that this role would transform his life and provide a platform for him to impact many others in his village.

With the support of Orchard: Africa, Mr. Mosweu has cultivated a flourishing garden that produces a wide variety of vegetables. These vegetables supplement the church’s feeding project and provide daily meals for the preschool. Thanks to his hard work, children from disadvantaged families now eat nutritious vegetables regularly, contributing to their growth, health, and strength.

As an agriculture champion, Mr. Mosweu also trains community members to start their own home gardens. Today, many villagers enjoy thriving gardens that not only feed their families but also produce a small surplus to sell.

At the age of 60, Mr. Mosweu has fulfilled his lifelong dream of making a lasting difference in his community. This achievement is the result of his diligence, combined with your generous investment in his life. For this, we thank you.
